This course introduces an overview of, ‘what is a cleanroom’, what kind of activities happen in a cleanroom and safe practices in a cleanroom. The course focuses on gowning, PPE, operations, and safe handling of materials in a cleanroom. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to: 1) explain what a cleanroom is; 2) apply proper safety practices in a cleanroom environment; 3) identify proper PPE and why it is used; and 4) how to safely handle the material and supplies in a cleanroom environment.

This course introduces semi-conductors, what they are, their purpose, and how they are designed and constructed. Students will understand the operation that creates the chips and wafers. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: 1) determine what a semiconductor is; 2) explain how chips are manufactured, and 3) understand the transport operation in a cleanroom environment.
