“My wife and I relocated to the area from South Carolina in early 2018 for her job. At age 42, I suddenly had the luxury of restarting my career. I could’ve gone in any direction, but I wanted an occupation that was rewarding and challenging, but also low-stress. I’d done a little bit of everything in the past, from waiting tables to automotive quality inspection and everything in between. Everything except HVAC.
Shortly after settling in, I started researching HVAC trade schools and found an up-and-coming one in my own backyard. I met the instructors at Belmont’s HVAC/R program and immediately decided that’s where I wanted to start my journey. They were jump-staring the program and I was determined to start my career in HVAC, so it was a perfect match. Throughout the program I received individual attention from instructors who were committed to preparing their students for the real world.
After graduation I chose to go to work for Casto Technical Services in Charleston, West Virginia. I’d met them through an instructor who had many connections with area HVAC companies. I attained journeyman status at work after just two years. There’s no doubt in my mind that HVAC technician was the perfect career choice.
I would tell anyone considering a career in HVAC—or just looking for a quality hands-on education—to consider Belmont College. You’ll be getting the best the area has to offer.”
