Building toward a bright future.

“After graduating from River High School in Hannibal, I was working for a local tree service, wondering whether college was right for me. A visit to Belmont College convinced to enroll. I decided to pursue civil engineering, a field that’s always intrigued me.

My education at Belmont has given me the confidence that I’ll be prepared to get my professional career off and running. Everyone at Belmont has been very welcoming and friendly. The instructors really care about creating a positive, personalized learning environment; the smaller class sizes mean we get the one-on-one time we need to truly understand the course material. At Belmont I’ve been building friendships with classmates as we learn to work together as a team, both in and out of the classroom—which is much like a real-world work environment.

I’ve made the Dean’s in two of my three semesters. I received the Trustees Scholarship and the Choose Ohio First Scholarship, both of which have helped me avoid taking out student loans. I’ll be graduating in May, and I’ve already been offered a job at American Consolidated Natural Resources in St, Clairsville. I’ll be putting the knowledge and skills I’ve gained at Belmont to use as an operations engineer trainee.

To anyone looking into Belmont College’s Civil Engineering program I suggest taking a visit to the College and meet the professors and chat about the journey.”
