Belmont College to Host Education Programs Open House

St. Clairsville, OH (May 14, 2026) — Belmont College will host an Education Programs Open House on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in Dowler Hall at the College’s Main Campus.

The event is designed for individuals interested in exploring careers in teaching and early childhood education. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about Belmont College’s Early Childhood Education and Teacher Education programs and discover the pathways available to begin or advance a career in education.

During the open house, guests will hear program overview presentations, receive information about financial aid opportunities, and participate in a guided tour of the Main Campus. Faculty and staff will also be available to answer questions and discuss program options.

At Belmont College, two education degree programs are offered to help students prepare for rewarding careers in the classroom and beyond.

In the Early Childhood Education program, students study the stages of child development and gain an understanding of the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of children through age ten. The program also explores how cultural, economic, health, language, and other factors influence a child’s development and learning. Students are prepared for careers in public and private pre-schools, public and private schools, Head Start programs, and early intervention programs.

The Teacher Education program is designed for students who want to turn their love of learning into a meaningful career in education. Students develop skills in written and oral communication, learn strategies for identifying and teaching a diverse student population, and gain practical professional skills needed to create productive and safe educational environments. Upon completion of the program, students can transfer to a four-year institution to pursue teaching certification in primary or secondary education.

“Education is one of the most rewarding career paths because you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families,” said Summer Leoni, Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education. “We’re excited to welcome prospective students and their families to campus and help them explore the many opportunities available through Belmont College’s education programs.”

Whether students are just beginning to explore educational opportunities or are ready to take the next step toward a career in teaching, the event offers valuable insight into what Belmont College has to offer.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP to Summer Leoni at sleoni@belmontcollege.edu.
