80-Hour Pharmacy Technician Program Offered at Belmont College

St. Clairsville, OH (February 4, 2025) – The Workforce Development and Community Education Department at Belmont College will be offering an 80-hour Pharmacy Technician Program this spring. The program provides both technical and practical training which will help to enable students to function as a competent entry-level pharmacy technician. 

Classes will be offered at the Main Campus, in-person, beginning February 18 through May 7, 2025, on Tuesday’s from 4:00pm – 9:00pm and Wednesday’s from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

Students who complete the program will receive a Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Completion from Belmont College.  In addition, this course prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and are eligible to apply to earn their CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) credential. Upon completion of the PTCE, students’ qualifications will meet or exceed Pharmacy Technician employment requirements in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The PTCE is included in the cost of this program and can be taken at any Pearson Vue Testing Center, including the one at Belmont College.

This program is an approved program for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in Ohio and West Virginia.  Please contact your local WIOA representative concerning eligibility for this funding. Students are also eligible for a Short-Term Certificate Scholarship opportunity. The Short-Term Certificate Scholarship is a residence-based award from the Ohio Department of Higher Education for students enrolled in select short-term certificate programs at Belmont.
