Following footsteps, overcoming obstacles.

“I started in the Practical Nursing (PN) program at Belmont College just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, which put my education on hold. It was a serious hurdle, but I knew that if I didn’t get back to it, again, I’d never succeed. So that’s what I did.

And just when I’d gotten back into the flow of school, life came at me hard.

My mother has always been a brilliant role model and the strongest woman I’ll ever know. She’s always encouraged me to go after whatever I desired. But she really took it up a notch when she entered and completed Belmont’s PN program. She truly showed me the way to success and inspired me to follow in her footsteps.

But in the middle of class one day, I got a frantic call from my sister, saying, ‘Mom’s house is on fire!’ The only home my family had ever known was suddenly gone.

For me, quitting was never an option. And while it wasn’t easy to keep focused on school, I prevailed. Throughout my time at Belmont, I was helped by so many incredible people and staff. My instructors truly believed in me and my classmates as we worked through a curriculum designed to prepare us for our professional journeys.

If you’re considering Belmont as part of your future, you’re on the right path.”
