Belmont College Student Awarded St. Clairsville American Legion Citizenship Scholarship

St. Clairsville, OH (October 8, 2025) – Belmont College is proud to announce that Austin Taylor, from Morristown, Ohio, has been selected as the recipient of the St. Clairsville American Legion Citizenship Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year.
Taylor is currently enrolled in Belmont’s Associate Degree Nursing program, where he is pursuing his passion for healthcare and service to others.
The scholarship is awarded annually to one first-year, full-time student enrolled in an associate degree or certificate program at Belmont College. This year’s scholarship award was $2,000. To qualify, applicants must be a family member of a U.S. Armed Forces veteran.
“The men and women of our military make incredible sacrifices for our country,” said Dr. Paul Gasparro, President of Belmont College. “Thanks to the support of the St. Clairsville American Legion, this scholarship helps reduce the financial burden of higher education for students from veteran families. We are honored to see students, like Austin, benefit as they pursue their academic and career goals.”
Founded in 1919, the American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization. It is dedicated to mentoring youth, promoting patriotism, advocating for strong national security, and supporting veterans and their families.
