Belmont College Announces New ‘CCP to Degree Scholarship’ for CCP High School Students

Belmont is offering a new CCP (College Credit Plus) to Degree Scholarship to all high school students who have earned credit through the CCP program at Belmont College.

St. Clairsville, OH (May 23, 2024) –  Belmont College officials are pleased to announce a new scholarship opportunity for all Ohio high school students who have earned credit through the College Credit Plus (CCP) program at Belmont College.

The CCP to Degree Scholarship encourages CCP students to continue their college careers at Belmont College.

“As College Credit Plus participants, these high school students are already valued Belmont College students,” said Bridgette Dawson, Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs. “At Belmont, we endeavor to make college affordable for our students, so that emphasis can be placed on academics instead of how to pay for tuition. Whether their destination is the workforce or an advanced degree, starting at Belmont College enables CCP students the opportunity to benefit from lower costs and easy transferability to a four-year institution for degree completion.”

Ohio’s CCP program gives students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to take college courses for free and earn high school and college credit before graduating from high school.

According to the Ohio Department of Education, the purpose of College Credit Plus is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students.

At Belmont, college credits can be earned during summer, fall, and spring terms. Flexible class scheduling allows students the ability to enjoy school activities that fit around college classes.

The CCP to Degree Scholarship covers tuition charges only after other grants have been applied. Fees, books, and materials are not covered.  Eligible students must enroll in the academic year following their high school graduation, be a resident of Ohio, and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
