This course focuses on advanced techniques in massage theory and practice. Topics include the history of massage therapy, professional communication skills and quality customer service, informed consent, client intake/assessment, scope and standards of practice, legal and ethical issues, professional boundaries, the professional relationship, examining benefits and risks of massage, and exploring the role of the massage therapist in various emploment settings.
