        Programmable Logic Controllers
4.00 credits

This course is a study of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). A PLC is a specialized control device used to control machines and processes. The course includes a description of the hardware functions and the programming of inputs and outputs. The PLC is programmed in relay ladder logic or using a structured text language and all of the programming instructions are reviewed. The labs include building a complete hardware system and writing software programs, using instructions to control the hardware. The student will be exposed to the operation of Allen-Bradley PLC's including Micrologix and Micro850 technology along with equipment from other manufactures.
