Fundamentals of program development are learned, emphasizing on-screen data entry, decision-making, looping and multi-form processing. Students enter and execute their own programs (windows-based applications) in a visual event-driven environment. Topics such as designing a Visual Basic user interface, creating a windows application, variables and arithmetic operations, decision structures, loop structures are covered in the first part of the semester. Web applications with ASP and string manipulation, procedures, try/catch (Exception handling), arrays and data files are more advanced topics and are cover in the second half of this course.
