In partnership with Motorcycle Ohio, this program brings top-tier motorcycle safety education right to Belmont County, making it easier than ever for local riders to access essential, life-saving training.
Whether you’re getting on a motorcycle for the first time or looking to refresh your skills, this course provides the tools you need to ride safely and confidently on Ohio’s roads.
Course Information
We offer Motorcycle Ohio’s Basic Rider Skills (BRS)—designed for both new and experienced riders. Whether you’re getting on a motorcycle for the first time or looking to refresh your skills, this course provides the tools you need to ride safely and confidently on Ohio’s roads.
- Cost: $75 per student
- Class Size: Limited to 12 students per session to ensure quality instruction
- Requires a valid M1 2-wheel Temporary Instruction Permit Identification Card (TIPIC) or M endorsement at the start of the class
- 16-hour course – 4 hours classroom and 12 hours of riding
- No experience is required, but rider should be capable of balancing and riding a bicycle.
- Students are required to provide all of their own proper protective riding gear.
- Successful completion earns a 60 day BMV skill test waiver for a motorcycle endorsement
- Motorcycles are provided during the course
Schedule
Classes held on Saturdays and Sundays, twice a month at launch.
Expanded Schedule: Starting in September 2025, classes will run every weekend.

Following the success of Motorcycle Ohio’s first ever rider learning experience event in June, Motorcycle Ohio is excited to announce that they’ve added additional FREE 3-hour rider learning experience events at Belmont College to help more riders refine their skills and stay safe on the road.

These events are stress-free, engaging learning environments that encourage riders to build skills while connecting with their riding community. No prior rider safety course experience is required.
Riders will gain confidence and practice key riding techniques in a controlled environment. Whether you have recently obtained your endorsement or completed the Ohio MORE Basic Riding Skills (BRS) course, this experience provides valuable additional range time under the guidance of a certified instructor.
Participants must hold a valid motorcycle license, wear proper safety gear, and provide their own two-wheel motorcycle that passes a safety inspection before riding. Completion of one of these events does not grant a license waiver, qualify for an insurance discount, or provide completion cards.
