International Trauma Life Support – Adult Provider (ITLS)
The ITLS course is designed to help you build the skills you’ll need to recognize the causes of injury, perform timely assessment, prioritize, perform critical interventions, and treat trauma patients who need immediate, life-saving transport. You’ll learn lifesaving techniques through practical exercises. Newly developed equipment is provided, when possible, to familiarize you with state-of-the-art techniques and tools. The basic course is intended for EMT-Bs and first responders, while the advanced course is for paramedics, advanced EMTs, and other advanced EMS providers. This course is also appropriate for medical students, first-year emergency medicine residents, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants interested in trauma care. The course is approved by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) for continuing 16 education hours.
Pediatric International Trauma Life Support (Peds ITLS)
This course is designed to teach EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other allied health providers to recognize the causes of injury, assess and perform critical interventions, and package and transport injured infants and children. A major focus of the course is using practical exercises to identify children whose conditions require immediate, life-saving transport. When possible, newly developed equipment is provided to familiarize you with state-of-the-art techniques and tools. This course is approved by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) for continuing 8 education hours.
