My journey to nursing began from a place of love and loss. After my parents passed away from cancer, I realized I wanted to become the calm, compassionate presence that meant so much to my family during that difficult time. Before nursing, I worked in education, where I discovered how much I loved helping people feel supported. That passion naturally led me to healthcare, and I’m grateful that my career will allow me to care for patients, listen to them, comfort them, and help them heal.
Like many nursing students, I had moments when I felt nervous asking what seemed like simple questions. But my instructors at Belmont College were incredibly patient and encouraging. They never made me feel that any question was unimportant. Their kindness reminded me that nursing is a lifelong journey of learning, and it inspired me to become that same reassuring presence for my future patients.

Belmont prepared me by holding us to a high standard of professionalism and excellence from day one. Our instructors brought invaluable real-world experience into the classroom. Seeing that commitment gave me confidence in the quality of my education and reassured me that I am well prepared to begin my career in oncology nursing.
As I step into this next chapter, I’m embracing the belief that the best nurses never stop learning. I know I’ll make mistakes, grow through challenges, and continue developing my skills with every patient I care for. I’m not the finished product yet—and I’m okay with that. I’m just getting started.
