Belmont College Announces New Police Science Associate Degree Program for Fall 2026

(St. Clairsville, OH – April 20, 2026) — Belmont College is proud to announce the launch of a new Police Science – Associate of Applied Science Degree beginning in Fall 2026. This program is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in law enforcement and related fields, while also supporting current professionals seeking to advance their skills and education.

Graduates of the Police Science program will be equipped to pursue employment opportunities in law enforcement, corrections, investigations, and related professions at the local, state, and federal levels.

The program is tailored to meet the needs of a diverse range of students, including:

  • Entry-level students preparing for a career in law enforcement
  • Current law enforcement professionals seeking additional knowledge and skills for career advancement or personal development
  • Students planning to transfer to a college or university to complete a bachelor’s degree

Program Goals and Objectives

The Police Science program emphasizes both foundational knowledge and advanced technical skills. Students will:

  • Demonstrate first-year college-level knowledge in areas such as:
    • Introduction to Criminal Justice
    • Introduction to Law
    • Police Report Writing
    • Addiction Studies
    • Introduction to Law Enforcement

    • Interview and Interrogation Techniques
