At 34 years old, I made the decision to begin my college journey—driven by a passion that had always been at the heart of who I am: helping others feel their best. I also wanted to show my children the importance of following your dreams, no matter what stage of life you’re in.
Before enrolling at Belmont College, I spent years working as an administrative assistant. That experience gave me a strong foundation in organization, communication, and business operations—skills that would later become invaluable as I pursued my long-term goal of owning my own business.
I graduated in May 2024, and in June 2024 I passed the MBLEX exam and launched my own massage therapy practice that same month in Barnesville, Ohio. Today, I specialize in therapeutic and deep tissue massage, and I have the privilege of helping people every day relieving pain, reducing stress, and improving their overall well-being.
My time at Belmont College was nothing short of exceptional. I gained a strong understanding of Massage Therapy fundamentals, and I found Kinesiology to be one of the most fascinating subjects I’ve ever studied. The instructors were incredibly supportive, and Bridget’s guidance was especially meaningful. She always took the time to answer questions and helped me navigate what it would take to successfully run my own business.
The clinical experience was another highlight of my education. It gave me the confidence and hands-on skills I needed to succeed and even more rewarding, some of my clinical clients continue to support my business today.
Looking back, starting college later in life was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Belmont College gave me not only the education I needed, but also the confidence to turn my passion into a thriving career.
