Train for a career as a pharmacy technician and earn the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certificate, which meets or exceeds employment requirements in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Pharmacy technicians work closely with pharmacists to prepare medications for patients, which includes retrieving drugs in the correct dosage form and strength, measuring the appropriate amount of drug and producing a prescription label. It’s recommended that you’ve taken math and science in high school. A high school diploma or GED is required to sit for the PTCB exam.

Classes will be Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s
  • Tuesday – 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Wednesday – 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Class ends: May 7, 2025

Cost: $1,299.00 student tuition. Tuition is due prior to the first evening of class.

Location: Main Campus

Students who complete the program will receive a Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Completion from Belmont.  In addition, this course prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and are eligible to apply to earn their CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) credential. Upon completion of the PTCE, students’ qualifications will meet or exceed Pharmacy Technician employment requirements in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The PTCE is included in the cost of this program and can be taken at any Pearson Vue Testing Center.

This program is an approved program for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in Ohio and West Virginia.  Please contact your local WIOA representative concerning eligibility for this funding. Students are also eligible for a Short-Term Certificate Scholarship opportunity. The Short-Term Certificate Scholarship is a residence-based award from the Ohio Department of Higher Education for students enrolled in select short-term certificate programs at Belmont.
